U Modré Kachnicky

Prague; Eating at the Blue Duck

Anthony Bourdain:

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”

U Modré Kachnicky (The Blue Duckling) offers an elegant setting for delicious food. Located at no.6 Nebovidská Street in the Malá Strana. The interior gives an air of times long forgotten. It’s like entering a patrician home of the 1800’s. As the name indicates, the main dish served is duck, duck in all shapes and forms. Though the menu includes lots of different dishes, from steakes to venison, we always choose the wild duck, as this is the best duck we’ve ever had the fortune to sink our teeth in.

The staff is excellent, always present but rarely visible, the rates are affordable and with the high quality of the food and drink, this is definitely a place to recommend. To book a visit, check out their website here
