Minsk – a Beginners Guide

The obvoius place to start a visit to Minsk is the Independence avenue or Praspiekt Niezaliežnasci, a broad boulevard that stretches all through the city center.

Along the Avenue you find all the classic attractions, in fact the avenue itself is a landmarkand a typical example of Soviet or Stalin era style ( also nicknamed Sovieet brutalism).

As we drive down the avenue we pass house number 31 where Lee Harvey Oswald (said to be the murderer of John F. Kennedy) lived in the early 60’s.
