Just some 30 miles outside Palm Springs, in the Yucca Valley you’ll find Pioneertown, a worn-down former movie-set, now turned into a tourist trap.
It’s a dusty, windy place but, of course, it’s a remnant from the westerns way back when…. I suppose it can be of interest if you’re in the neighbourhood, but it’s definitly not worth any detour.
As for eating, therre is always Pappy & Harriets, but…. It’s just a big barn-like building, the food isn’t something to brag about and the waiters are just to busy or maybe just can’t be bothered with the job that they’re supposed to do. I hear it said that the place comes alive in the evenings when there is live music, but during daytime it seems more dead than alive.
Palm Springs’ Thursday Night Street Market
Every Thursday night there is a Street market in the center of Palm Springs, there is live music, food stalls flea market and all the other things you would expect from a market. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, the temperature is pleasant and people are enjoying themselves. It’s a pleasant way to spend an evening if you don’t expect anything out of the average.
Tomorrow we’re going to The Joshua Tree National Park
